First Plymouth reaches out to Kenombe Village, Rwanda In 2006, the Outreach ministry of First Plymouth Church heard about a community in need in post-war Rwanda. Kenombe Village is home to desperately poor women and children trying to rebuild their lives. Even facing dire circumstances, the villagers were hopeful and willing to work for a brighter future. "If someone will help educate our children," they said, "we can take it from there." First Plymouth embraced the opportunity to help this community, and members and groups began sponsoring children in Kenombe Village. A sponsored child receives: - One year of school
School uniforms - Breakfast before school
Cost per year to sponsor one child is: - $150 for an elementary school aged child
- $220 for a secondary school aged child
With community and volunteer support, 100% of funding goes to the children and makes a tremendous difference in the lives of individuals and the future of this community. Our goal for 2008 is to sponsor 200 Rwandan children. Please e-mail the church office or call 303-762-0616 if you are able to fully or partially sponsor a child. Every dollar helps provide a brighter future for a disadvantaged child!
