Choirs and Ensembles for Children and Adults
If you are interested in participating in any of the musical groups at First Plymouth, contact Frank Perko III, Director of Music.
First Plymouth Chancel Choir
The First Plymouth Chancel Choir is open to adults and high school youth. It performs regularly on Sunday morning and also presents two concerts per year in conjunction with Arts at Plymouth. The group of approximately sixty members rehearses Thursday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. from September through Pentecost (May or June). For more information, contact Director Frank Perko III.
The Revelation Singers
The Revelation Singers is our choir for youth and children in grades one through seven. This group provides a wonderful opportunity for children to start singing and learn music in a Christian setting. The Revelation Singers rehearse at 9:00 a.m. on those Sundays they are scheduled to sing during the Worship Service. The choir sings several times a year. Music has also become a special part of our Sunday School program for grades one through four with 25 minutes of class devoted to music study and performance. Volunteer children’s choir director Ben Westlund leads this effort.
First Plymouth Handbell Choir
The First Plymouth Handbell Choir is open to adults and high school youth. The ensemble performs Sunday mornings, five to six times per year with rehearsals Wednesday evenings, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Odeon. This group has on occasion presented concerts both at First Plymouth and at other locations within the Denver-area. First Plymouth is privileged to own White Chapel English Handbells as the instruments for this music ensemble. The group is directed by Ben Ehrlich.
The Early Childhood Cherub Choir
The Early Childhood Cherub Choir is comprised of our preschool/kindergarten children’s Sunday School class. As part of their weekly curriculum, they rehearse songs that they sing at our Family Christmas Eve service and Teacher Appreciation Sunday in the spring. For more information, contact Noanie Geistert or simply ensure that your child aged three through kindergarten attends Sunday School on a regular basis.
Rocky Mountain Flute Choir
Rehearsals of the Rocky Mountain Flute Choir are scheduled at the discretion of director Shawanna Quirk.
Occasionally instrumentalists are featured within the Worship Service as soloists. If you study an instrument and would like to offer your talent in worship, please contact Frank Perko III.
